"On-Demand" Listening Options: |
On-demand options may only be avaialable for limited time
periods. They are contained in a row with information
about that segment of the series. If there are ten
"clips" or programs in a series volume, the button you press
will load all ten clips starting with the one described in
that row. |
Continuous
"internet radio" CoolStreams are available at all times. |

available in MP3 format on many series. |
At this time, ALL MP3
CoolStreams are in MP3-HI (56 kbps) format - our
streaming provider is Live365, but there are NO ADS (either
pop-up or audio) |

as they play.

We are upgrading most series for higher quality delivery for
those with fast access via DSL, ISDN (dual), or CABLE
MODEMS. Below are the descriptions of the sound quality you
can hear from each button: |
Play or Listen Buttons
for dial-up modem (28 & 56 k) users |

These buttons will usually provide a 21 kbps Real Audio
stream which has an audio bandwidth of near 20 KHz in mono
(16 KHz in Stereo), and still works well over 28k modems. |
These buttons
(where available) will usually provide a 33 kbps MP3 stream
(NONE are currently in use for the MP3 CoolStreams, but
these may return later). |

The MP3
Coolstreams are 56 kbps Stereo. Though they are 56
kbps, these streams will usually NOT stream over a 56 k
modem connection (because you can only usually get up to
46-50 kbps reliably over a 56 k connection). |
