iTunes Player info, Help & Links |
| |
The iTunes Player does not
handle .m3u playlists properly. This is a documented
problem.
Therefore, if your iTunes
player opens (as a default) when clicking on our MP3 POD
Programs or MP3 Fresh Cuts features, the programs or songs
will not play in the proper order that we have placed them in.
The files will become scattered all over the main library, and
you may not be able to find them all easily or at all.
The quickest fix may
be to switch your default mp3 player (for opening the .m3u
file type) to Winamp (recommended) or Windows media player,
both of which will play everything in the correct order.
If you do not know how to do this, see the instructions below.
(note that switching your default player for .m3u playlist
files will NOT affect opening .mp3 file types on your PC. If
your default MP3 player is now iTunes, MP3 files will still
open in iTunes unless you change the default for the .mp3 file
type also).
More info:
Our buttons all link to a plain .m3u playlist file, and each
contains multiple items (.mp3 files). Itunes
randomizes all of these files, scatters them all over the main
library view, and does not play them in the order that we have
put them in the playlist file. see the add-on utility at
the link below.
There's no fix for that in the Itunes player, but we
know of one utility on the web that reportedly fixes this
problem in the itunes player. It requires installing an
application on your PC. We have NOT tested this and
therefore cannot verify that it is safe or works. Here's
a link to the program - if this link is no longer valid, try a
google search for "M3U2iTunes" :
