	Feature Album: Smithfield Fair - Walking Through This World
Scott's Blog Notes: Smithfield Fair's tag line is: "Acoustic music ... Scottish Spirit." Its been a real pleasure to open & play another new Smithfield Fair CD "Walking Through This World," and this is as solid and enjoyable as their past releases, maybe even a wee bit better if that is possible. Smithfield Fair considers their approach to recording and performing traditional Scottish songs to be song-driven, which is confirmed again with 15 new songs on "Walking Through This World." Their superb male-female harmony vocals may make this Louisiana group the Beach Boys of Scottish American music, those harmonies are beautiful, as are the leads whether by Jan Smith or Dudley-Brian Smith. As much as I've enjoyed their previous releases like "...Swept Away" or "Winds of Time," "Walking Through This World" says to me that they are just getting better - and hopefully just getting started! More songs to play here in weeks come (including my favorites "Going Now," "For So Long," and "The Scent of Pencil Shavings" all of which I have saved for later), and you'll also find Smithfield Fair songs playing in Coffee House and Folk Rock Cafe (See what's playing where here >>>) - I'll feature different tracks on those series' in the future.

	Feature Album: Karan Casey - Songlines
Scott's Blog Notes: Karan Casey released her first solo album "Songlines" in 1997, and also served as the lead singer of Solas (on the albums "Solas" [1996], "Sunny Spells and Scattered Showers" [1997], & "The Words That Remain" [1998]). She returned to her solo career with the album "Seal Maiden" (2000), followed by "The Winds Begin To Sing" (2001), "Distant Shore" (2003) and her most recent, "Chasing The Sun" (2005). Last week we featured "Chasing The Sun," and for contrast, this week we feature her first album "Songlines" from 1997. Also, more from recent featured artists Kim Robertson, Kate Rusby & The Poozies.
