Fresh Cuts, November 12 - 25, 2006:
	Feature Album: Bill Leslie - I Am a River
Scott's Blog Notes: I was first introduced to Bill Leslie's music last year on his release "Peaceful Journey" which you can still hear in the Cool Age and MRI Coolstreams. "I Am A River" is another fine album by Bill, but is, sadly, dedicated to the memory of Micheal O'Domhnaill (1951-2006) of Relativity, Nightnoise and the Bothy Band. Bill Leslie's music was influenced by hearing Micheal O'Domhnaill & Nightnoise on a trip to Scotland. He also writes on his web site bio: "I heard someone play the Celtic whistle on the side of the road near Inverness and fell in love with the haunting sound. No one in Raleigh [NC] could teach me how to play the whistle so I taught myself using books, cassettes and videotaped instructions." Bill blends the Celtic whistle with his guitar playing on several tracks on "I Am A River," and along with vocals on a few tracks, creates a pleasant range of music from folk to New Age.

	Feature Album: Cathie Ryan - Somewhere Along the Road
Scott's Blog Notes: Cathie Ryan is an Irish-American singer from Michigan with four solo albums to date (her most recent, "The Farthest Wave" (2005), was featured here in July). Cathie was lead singer for Cherish The Ladies for seven years, offering her first self titled solo album in 1997. Featured here is her previous album "Somewhere Along the Road" released in 2001. Cathie's beautiful soprano graces 11 celtic/folk songs on this CD, and it is legend Phil Cunningham playing accordion on many of the songs including "Carrick-a-rede" which open our set here. Plus more songs this time from recent featured artists Smithfield Fair, Kim Robertson, Frances Black & Grace Griffith.
