Fresh Cuts, October 1 - 14, 2006:
	Feature Album: Roine Stolt - Wall Street Voodoo
Scott's Blog Notes: Different is good! This is not your typical Prog album, and its diversity of directions is what makes it fun! Roine Stolt of The Flower Kings fame has pulled together "an elaborate mix of blues, funk and Soul" ... "much in the same spirit as the late 60's and early 70's rock and blues music." More from the press notes: "Once again, Stolt proves to be a master of the six string, as he conjures the memory of former greats Peter Green, Jimi Hendrix, Robin Trower and Frank Zappa. The album recalls the musical feel of such acts as The Allman Brothers, Cream, The Grateful Dead, and Vanilla Fudge. Its as if these bands never went away" (they haven't here, see Retro Rock Adventures). "'For a long time, I've wanted to do something that is connected with my roots and the way I heard music in my teens' says Stolt. 'Even the lyrics reflect a spirit that was around at the time, slightly political and as true today as back then. I also wanted to do an album that focuses heavily on my guitar playing, and in particular, the more 60-70's style blues.'" So that he has done, and its a great listen all through. Now from the album characterization, shall we also deduce a fascination with the Riddler on Batman? And also, let's not forget here 10cc's "The Wall Street Shuffle."
