Lullaby Baxter -
In this 21 January 2007
interview, Lullaby Baxter takes us from waiting tables
at Jello Bar in Montreal in 1997 to she and friend
Lutwidge Sedgwick writing songs to Baxter's jazz-singer
sister Anna-Lisa meeting with Atlantic Records staff
producer Yves Beauvais (Madeline Peyroux, Olu Dara) and
a demo leading to Baxter recording her debut with Tom
Waits's session players Oranj Symphonette. Atlantic
Records released Baxter's debut album, "Capable Egg", in
2000. Baxter fills in the gaps from there and brings up
to her current release, "Garden Cities of To-morrow."

Jenn Taranto is a singer interviewed 10 December 2006
at this early point in her career. Her music is mellow and
ambient and relies heavily on violins and vocal harmonies.
Jenn's debut album, Move on from Me, released in May 2006,
was recorded in her apartment and reflects the serious and
obsessive part of Jenn's personality. Most songs explore
common themes such as her behavior in relationships and her
inability to let things go.
