| We
had Buckingham Nicks playing in our streams a few years
back, taken from our own reasonably clean vinyl copy
(not the suspect bootleg copies circulating on the web).
We pulled the songs out with the intent to restore and
re-edit them, then life got in the way and we never got
back to the project. Now we have. We have
painstakingly re-edited our .wav files to remove as many
noise ticks and pops that we could, resulting in a very
clean rendition of all 10 songs. We never use
"hiss" or noise filters (they also change the high
frequency response), so you might still be able to hear
the vinyl surface noise on the quieter parts of the
tracks (even when encoded to 128 mp3), but that gives
that vinyl "warmth" character of the original.
Until an official CD remastering arrives, we think
you'll hear about the best quality transfer from vinyl
around right here in our Coolstreams (unless someone
still has an unopened copy of this great LP around!). |
