Q: Once visitors click through [a Coolstreams link] link to Amazon.com, how much time do they have to put an item in the shopping cart before [Coolstreams] stop earning referral fees on their purchases?

[Coolstreams] may earn a referral fee for any qualifying items placed in a customer's shopping cart during a 24-hour window. This window begins at the time a visitor clicks through your Associates link. However, the 24-hour window will close if the customer submits his/her order or reenters Amazon.com through another Associate's link. Once the window is closed, any additional purchases will not earn referral fees for your Associates account. If the customer returns to Amazon.com through your Associates link, this will generate a new 24-hour window.

Please note that a customer may follow your Associates link, add an item to his/her shopping cart and then leave Amazon.com without completing an order. As long as the item was added to the shopping cart during the 24-hour window, you will earn a referral fee on this item even if the actual order is placed several weeks later.

Q: Does Coolstreams get credit if I purchase used or Auction items through Amazon after clicking on a link on Musicsojourn.com?

A: No, we do not get credit on Auction or Zshop items (an earlier posting here was incorrect).

A: Here are the details on how we earn referral credit from Amazon's site:

• NEW - Amazon is promoting sales of non-media items (that means NOT: CDs, DVD's VHS Movies, etc., Books) and they will pay us a higher overall commission based on the number of non-media items that are sold through our links.  This can help us while not costing you anything extra! Please consider Amazon for purchasing additional non-media items when going through our links.
   
• The remainder of these details are from Amazons own description:
• 15% of the sale of individually linked books listed in our catalog at 10% to 30% off the list price via Direct Links. In order to be eligible for 15%, the book must be added to the customer's Shopping Cart directly from the product detail page they land on at Amazon.com.
      
• 5% to 8% of the sale price of items sold by Amazon.com. The total number of items sold (both Amazon.com and Marketplace products) through your links will determine the percentage rate. It is important to note that only Amazon.com products (i.e.: not Toys R Us, etc. below) qualify for the tiered referral fee rate (Note: We are currently at 6% and need approximately 400 more "items" to reach 6.5%)
      
• 5% of the sale of each Marketplace products sold by ToysRUs.com, BabiesRUs.com, and Imaginarium.com
      
• 2.5% of the sale of all other Marketplace products sold by third parties, including Target, Marshall Fields, Office Depot, Circuit City, and others.

  Even though third party items do not qualify for the higher commission rates, they do count towards the number of products sold through your links in regards to the tiered compensation plan
      

• Referral fees for some electronics and software products are limited to a maximum of $10 per item, and computers are limited to $50 per item regardless of the revenues associated with these sales.
     
• We do not pay referral fees for gift certificates, out-of-print items, Auctions items, zShops items, and Drugstore.com items.
